The scent of ripe strawberries, neat rows of vegetables in the greenhouses, and lively conversations about the challenges and triumphs of farming—it was in this very atmosphere that the farm tour for participants in the Women farmers support program took place at the “Mur Vam” farm.
On this day, the training went far beyond theory. Here, participants could get a firsthand look at the results of daily labor, see how a high-quality product is created, and hear the story of a farm that, step by step, forged its own path to success.
The participants learned about techniques for growing vegetables in greenhouses and strawberries in open fields, as well as how to organize the operations of a greenhouse complex, manage production processes, and market products effectively.
Of particular interest was the farm’s experience collaborating with national retail chains—an example of how quality, consistency, and perseverance open the door to new opportunities.
But it wasn’t the numbers or the technology that proved most valuable—it was the open exchange of experiences. After all, it is precisely in such meetings that confidence is born: successful farming is not an unattainable dream, but a very real goal for those who are ready to work, learn, and grow.
“Thank you for the incredible stadium tour! It was very informative. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to see firsthand how vegetables are grown in a greenhouse. Trips like this help you avoid many mistakes when starting your own business,” says one of the participants.
The program to support women farmers is implemented by the FUND LASKA with financial support from the international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps Ukraine and with the assistance of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.
