How can we make farms more resilient to climate challenges? How can we retain moisture in the soil and increase its fertility without depleting natural resources? Participants in the Women Farmers Support Program sought answers to these and many other questions during a study tour of the Technopol Agricultural Complex.
This trip was not just a tour of a successful agricultural enterprise, but a true immersion in the modern philosophy of farming. The farm owners shared their many years of experience in applying various soil cultivation technologies and presented the innovative Living Soil Power system, which is based on the principles of moisture conservation, supporting biodiversity, and restoring the natural fertility of the land.
The participants were most impressed by the key principle that guides the farm: “It is the soil that produces, not the crop.” This principle became the main message of the meeting and a reminder that the future of the agricultural sector is impossible without a caring approach to the land. One of the participants shared her impressions:
“A big thank you to the organizers at the FUND LASKA and to the speakers, Vadym Maievskyi and Vitalii Hryshchenko, for the helpful information I received today. You’ve truly filled me with energy and positive thoughts that will last a long time. There’s a lot to think about and work on in my farm. Thank you to the other female participants for the pleasant conversation! Best of luck to everyone!”
We sincerely thank Vadym Maievskyi for his openness, his willingness to share practical knowledge, and his inspiration for the development of women’s farming in Ukraine.
Such meetings prove once again that innovation begins with knowledge, and successful farming begins with a willingness to learn, share experiences, and adopt new approaches.
