Viki Aken, director of Mercy Corps Ukraine, visited the farms of grant recipients of the Ukraine Agricultural Support Program, which is being implemented in southern Ukraine by the FUND LASKA.
She spoke personally with agricultural producers who are holding the line on the food front every day. She saw how farmers are rebuilding their farms after the shelling. She heard about their needs, challenges, and plans for the future.
Each of these meetings serves as a reminder of the incredible strength of Ukrainian farmers.
Despite the danger, damaged equipment, destroyed infrastructure, and the constant threat of shelling, they continue to work.
The fields are being planted.
They take care of the animals.
They are preserving jobs.
They are working to rebuild their communities and the entire country.
Their resilience is truly admirable. Their dedication to the cause is inspiring. It is thanks to people like them that Ukrainian villages are thriving, rebuilding, and looking to the future with hope.
LASKA FUND implements the program in Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions.
