With 44 years of experience in the agricultural sector under his belt, Volodymyr remains dedicated to his work to this day. The full-scale war has caused significant damage to his business. In 2022, he was forced to leave his home. During the occupation, uninvited “guests” took over his production facility. They took everything they could get their hands on: newly purchased equipment, lathes, tools, grain, and fuel.

When he returned, Volodymyr saw a devastated landscape. Everything he had acquired through hard work had been lost or destroyed. Despite this, he did not give up and gradually began to restore the enterprise’s operations, rebuilding it from scratch. The main focus of the business is crop production. He grows wheat, barley, canola, and flax; provides services; and supports his shareholders by tilling their vegetable gardens and delivering water free of charge.

In 2025, the farmer participated in a program run by Mercy Corps Ukraine and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. With the grant funds, he was able to purchase a Yukon liquid fertilizer applicator, a disc harrow, and a transfer hopper.

“Thanks to this help, I can do the necessary work on time. There’s a saying: ‘A spoonful before lunch, but not after.’ The size of the harvest depends on this,” says Volodymyr.

The farmer is very pleased with how the liquid fertilizer applicator works. He says it’s an effective piece of equipment. It applies fertilizer right at the plant’s roots. Previously, he needed 250–300 kg of fertilizer when applying it with a sprayer. Now he applies 150 kg—and the results are even better. Yukon saves money.

This year, winter wheat and rapeseed are growing in the company’s fields. The farm remains a reliable source of support for more than 200 shareholders, who are residents of the surrounding villages. Not only does the farm pay rent on time, but it also provides grain and chaff for animal feed, cultivates vegetable gardens free of charge, and offers support by providing equipment for field work.

People often turn to Vladimir for advice and guidance. Thanks to his many years of experience, he is happy to share his knowledge about growing crops, selecting seeds, and the rational and effective use of plant protection products.

Among his future plans is setting up his own poultry farm. Even before the war, the farmer had prudently purchased an old pig farm, which he planned to convert for a new line of business. However, due to the war, this project has been put on hold for now
