The LASKA FUND team completed an intensive HEAT training delivered by Octopus Security trainers — and it was far more than a series of lectures. It was a hands-on, immersive experience built around real-life risk scenarios.
First came clear theory, practical case studies and useful tips from professionals. Then came the hands-on practice, adrenaline and exercises based on scenarios as close to real-life situations as possible.
Shelling, road accidents, shootings, potential detentions, and first aid according to the MARCH protocol — our team not only covered all these scenarios but also put them into practice.
We learned how to quickly assess risks, act under stressful conditions, assist those affected, and make the right decisions when every second counts.
The result? Greater confidence, stronger practical skills, and an even greater readiness to carry out our humanitarian mission, even in challenging conditions.
And to wrap things up — well-deserved certificates, a welcome recognition of the new knowledge and experience we gained.
